We are staying at The Painted Pony Resort in the middle of nowhere. The resort was built by John McAfee of the software anti-virus company. Look him up in Wikipedia. He's quite the nutter.
This resort consists of the main house, two guests houses, and The Hanger. We drew numbers for the real bedrooms. Eddy and I got The Hanger (there's an ultra-lite plane in storage) with the other losers, about 20 of us. Air mattress tonight. Oh well.
This was the coolest day so far. Not much over 60 degrees, but pleasant. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. We had a very strong tail wind the last 25 miles. 25-30 mph was our average. Sweet.
The rain hit about an hour after we got in, and rained for several hours. Many cyclists were caught and were drenched to the bone. But the accommodations are nice. Big screen TV, with the March Madness basketball games
