What a difference a few miles make! We rode from the big, wide open spaces of West Texas to the Hill Country of Middle Texas. The Hill Country is aptly named. Trees and hills everywhere. And HUMIDITY! The next few days of cycling will be interesting.
We had to stop at a Border Control Inspection Station during our ride. Exciting stuff. Today is probably our last day to see Border Control. A few weeks ago, we saw more Border Control vehicles than private vehicles.
We're staying at The Riverbend Resort (Cabins and Camping). About ten are camping in tents by the Frio River, while the rest (us) are sharing cabins.
Our cabin mates are Linda and Sam. Linda owns a B and B in Mexico and has dual citizenship . She's in her mid 60's and is a very strong cyclist. Her husband (?) Sam is retired from Digital Equipment Company (DEC) and lives in New Hampshire. Both have a great sense of humor.
Wednesday is a Rest Day! Yay! Nothing is on the agenda except sleeping in and chillaxing or maybe ride into Leaky, TX 7 miles away (or not).
