Last night in La Grange NASA astronaut, Bill McArthur, gave a presentation on his experiences working and living on the International Space Station. He gave a Shout Out to Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. Yay! He and his son-in-law joined our long ride today to Richards, TX. Nice folks.
The route took us through some small towns in TX and low traffic roads.
Sad news today. One of our riders was taken to the hospital in Austin for dizziness. Not sure what's going on there, but it's doubtful If he'll be able to rejoin our group given his medical history.
At Navasota, TX there is a statue of Frank Hamer, Texas Ranger. He is known for tracking and killing Bonnie and Clyde. Here's my cycling buddy Linda with him.
DQ was our next stop to sustain us for the next hot and humid last 20 miles.
Outside Navasota, our route sheet pointed out Chuck Norris' Lone Wolf Ranch. All I'm sayin' is that's what the route sheet said. Not very impressive of you ask me.
We are staying two nights (in tents) at Mexican Hills Ranch near Richards. It's a working ranch that caters to cross country motorcycles and bicycles. More on that tomorrow. There's a cabin set up with satellite TV with Duke/Wisconsin on. I prefer laying in my tent listening to the crickets and cows.
