Day 32

Richards, TX  Rest Day.

Today is a rest day at Mexican Hill Ranch.  Owned by Ernie and Doris, it's a working ranch with cabins, tent spaces, showers, covered areas, and a TV/gameroom/man cave.

It's located on the 'Southern Tier Bicycle Route', so they have bicyclists from all over as well as motorcyclists.

I spent a few hours this afternoon showing Cecil from Iowa how to use FB. He is soooo excited and has been posting his pictures like crazy!

Tonight we had a guest speaker who is a local artist, writer, historian, and a 6th generation Texan.  He spoke of Sam Houston, the Texas Blues, and local area  politics ~1870-1960.  He didn't leave out Bonnie and Clyde and the Texas Ranger who killed them, Frank Hamer.  And yes, I did pass by Chuck Norris' ranch Monday.

Oh, did I mention that Blue Bell Ice Cream began a few miles away from Richards?  I saw big truck after big truck of ice cream in the yesterday.

Two more towns in TX then we'll be finally be in LA!
