To Ocean Springs, Mississippi

Today is our last full day in MS.  We arrive at the Gulf coast after 67 miles from Poplarville to Oceans Springs where a motel room awaits us.  We overnighted in a FEMA approved storm shelter. Below, Alan, a Forest Service employee from Idaho points toward the certificate of authenticity.  Unfortunately, the FEMA standards seem to require that you can't turn off the lighting, so we all "slept" with the lights on all night.

We got to watch some local kids practice roping calf's. We were told that one of the instructors was a bronze medalist from Salt Lake. It didn't occur to me until later that I was unaware that calf roping wasan Olympic event.  Perhaps in context I was expected to know that there is a big Salt Lake rodeo.

The Wolfpack got an opportunity to ride the horses.

It looks like we have a few hours this morning before the rain starts, so we hope to get out on the road and see if we can beat it in.
