Silsbee, Tx

Butterflies in waiting.

Not much to comment on regarding today's rise.  Flat. Marshy.  We had a headwind most of the day.  I was actually tired when we got in.  In part, this was due to the fact that I had a small breakfast and skipped lunch.  We had a very tasty BBQ lunch in Silsbee.

This is a very depressed, hardscrabble area of Texas.  Oil patch, refinery and logging provide most of the jibs.  We are just north of Beaumont, TX.  At the 50 mile mark in tomorrow's ride we cross from Texas into Louisiana.  BBQ gives way to Cajun food.  Not bad.  After a few days of that, its on to seafood.

We will also cross the 2000 mile marker tomorrow.  A bit sad to see the end of the trip come into sight.
