Day 41

Poplarville to Ocean Springs 69.4 miles

Not much sleep last night.  The lights in the sleeping area were hard-wired in the electrical system and could not be turned off.  All 40+ of us were a little grumpy this morning.

But we had a pleasant, low traffic, good roads ride.  A few dogs encouraged me to sprint, but after I yelled at them, they stopped the chase.  Bear, a tiny dog, chased us the most.  The owner, to her credit, did her best to control  Bear.

The lunch stop was about 17 miles from the end at Ramsey Baptist Church, where the church ladies provided us lunch. It was a rest stop a few years ago, and they were so thrilled to have the Coast to Coast Cyclists there that they volunteered their time  and money and fixed lunch for the last two years. To be honest I was hoping for fried chicken, casseroles of unknown ingredients, and congealed salads. We had sandwiches and potato salad. But I'm not complaining.  They were a sweet group of ladies.

We made it to the Motel 6 a little after noon.  And took a nap. And had a massage.
